My name is Becky and I live with my husband
and two stepchildren in the Salt Lake Valley. I introduced my family to the joys of owning pet rats almost two years ago when I
married my husband and brought my two wonderful rats Annie and Brenna with me to Utah.
I have always loved having pet rodents
in my home. My father introduced me to the joys of breeding mice when I was a
small child. I have memories of watching my favorite mouse, Tabby, give birth
to a baby inside my hands when I was about five years old. When I grew older,
breeding guinea pigs became a new hobby of mine. I did not own pet rats until
my late teens.
I highly recommend purchasing rats from good quality rat breeders. Many breeders are experts at predicting color and temperament, and you will most likely
find the perfect pet to fit your lifestyle. This is the reason why I would like
to breed rats someday. I want to breed good quality, healthy rats that love to
be handled.
Cookie's litter was a big surprise for me and unplained for,
but I'm glad I was able to be there for her when she needed it. The whole experience of watching Cookie give birth and
take care of her young has strengthened my own desire to breed rats someday. Until that time comes I will continute to learn
as much as I can.
Please email me if you are interested in adopting one of Cookie's
babies.
